Dr. Seema Yasmin is an Emmy-winning journalist, author, medical doctor and professor. She has been educated in medicine at the University of Cambridge and journalism at the University of Toronto. Yasmin worked as a Control and Prevention Officer, where she monitored outbreaks of disease and was the lead investigator in a variety of CDC reports.
Seema Yasmin was a finalist for Pulitzer Morning News and a recipient of Emmy’s study on neglected diseases. She received two grants from the Crisis Reporting Center in Pulitzer. In 2017, Yasmin was a John S. Knight Fellow in Journalism at Stanford University studying the dissemination of disinformation and disinformation on health during epidemics. The 2017 News Breaking Award with the Dallas Squad.
Her writing has won honors and residencies from the Mid Atlantic Arts Council, Hedgebrook, the Millay Colony for the Arts and others. It’s her first novel. Impaciente Dr. Lange (Johns Hopkins University Press, July 2018) is a biography of an AIDS doctor killed on Malaysia Airlines flight MH17.
